Congratulations to all the team that chose to compete at this weekends Sherwood Colliery SC Robin Hood Meet. We had a big team this weekend, 28 swimmers, out of 99 events entered we had 55 top ten finishes!

Our 9 medalists that finished in the top 3 were:

  • Erin G 6 Golds, plus 15th in the overall Top Girl standings
  • Oli G 5 Golds; 2 Silver; 2 bronze, plus 5th in the overall Top Boy standings

Both Erin and Oli now have multiple East Midland Qualifying times

  • Jake L-T 3 Gold; 1 Bronze
  • Sam H 1 Silver; 1 Bronze
  • Hebe S 1 Bronze
  • William J 1 Bronze
  • Alice E 2 Golds
  • Jess G 1 Silver
  • Thomas E 1 Silver

Some of our competitors that got some big PB’s and represented the club learning from every swim, these were:

Daisy W, very excited to knock 4 seconds off her PB at 50m Fly, again Matthew W, having another fantastic meet and again knocking time off at 50m Fly with a fantastic 34.24, coming 5th and a great 100 free in 1:08.44. Freya W swam very well in the 200 IM 1st time doing one of these too. Brendan posted a very good time in his 100 Breast, big PB for him, he also swam his first 200 fr this weekend. We had quite a few swimmers enter the 400 fr, they all did exceptionally well in this event.

I’d like to thank everyone especially those kids that are fairly new to galas, Carys, Ben J, Lily P, Ollie N, Evelyn D, everyone represented the club perfectly, cheered on teammates and acted in a very professional way, making sure drinks were taken to the call area and wearing the team tops up to the last minute.

We look forward to seeing some of you at our next open meet, the COSSS Teaspoon Gala on Sunday. Entries are still open for the Derbyshire ASA Long Course Competition. You don’t need qualifying times for the 50’s but for the 100’s you do. Any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected]
