We’ve just completed our first gala’s of the season, the SCSC Sprints meet and for our younger swimmers the Derbyshire Junior Grand Prix. At the SCSC Sprints, all the swimmers behaved brilliantly throughout the afternoon, were supportive of their teammates and swam extremely well. Out of the 21 swimmers that competed we had a few medalists but many many more PB’s.

We saw some outstanding swims from Chris who managed some all-time best times. Matthew was breaking barriers at Free. Also, well done also to Annabelle, Hebe and Josh in their free for posting some fantastic times, what a great start to the new season. I’m sure when the times are fed into Swim Club Manager we will also have some new club records too.

At the Derbyshire Grand Prix our younger swimmers gained some great experience and really got behind their teammates. We had a fantastic turnout of 24 swimmers. The next JGP will be on the 6th October, the 2nd of the 3 galas.

We'll try to get the results emailed out to the team shortly. The next gala is the Robin Hood meet, a busy start to the new season’s racing and our dolphins.

If you have any questions about any future galas please ask either your coach or email us at [email protected], the Ripley Rascals meet is still open for entries and the Chesterfield Winter Open closes today, plenty of opportunity to update times and get qualifying times for the February Derbyshire’s.
