So with a degree of excitement and some apprehension about how things would work 8 Dolphins swimmers re-entered the pool last night. Dronfield Sports Centre have allowed A squad to have 6 trial events before they reopen their doors to clubs on 10 August. The purpose of the trial is to ensure the centre’s plans work as intended whilst reducing the risk to swimmers and the public. We asked a couple of our swimmers what they thought about returning to swimming and this is what they told us:

“I loved it back at swimming last night - it was great to be back in the pool and it felt very safe.” Alice

“Great to be back at swimming and doing exercise with plenty of space to feel safe.” Will

We had intended to publish our full schedule by now but unfortunately Graves and Ponds Forge have been unable to provide either an opening date or confirmation of the sessions we can have. We will confirm our schedule as soon as we can. In the meantime we will be sending you a link to an line form, this will be sent on a squad basis to help manage responses. The form is required by Swim England and by our risk assessment. A second form will also be issued 48 hours before your first session back.

Good to be back in the pool and sorry we can’t get everyone in more quickly.

Dronfield is open for public lane swimming sessions and these must all be pre booked.

We are looking forward with excitement.
